FAQ's
1 Member FAQ's
1.1 What do we offer?

Alakoko is a Rice Street Business Association non-profit affiliate store based on the idea of shared community space. Alakoko is a membership based store that services growing and locally based entrepreneurs. This membership includes space to sell their products, brand promotion, and offers networking/resources that help stimulate sustainable growth.

1.2 How is this different?

We understand the struggles of local small business owners and believe in the value of quality handmade products. Alakoko alleviates the time and overhead expense it would cost to open and operate a store so you can focus on mastering your craft.

Compared to wholesale which takes 50-60% of sales, we keep things simple with a monthly membership. This means more profit in your pocket and cash flow means more growth.

2 Customer FAQ's?
2.1 Where does the money for my purchase go?

When you purchase a product from the Alakoko shop the money goes to the designer. Unlike wholesale or consignment which takes 40-60% of the retail price you can feel good about your purchase and that it puts the money in designers pockets.

Alakoko charges designers a membership fee that offers them space to sell, checkout service, marketing, and educational workshops.

2.2 If I donate money what is it used for?

Alakoko is always seeking opportunities to assist with the growth of their designers small businesses. Any donations will be applied toward supplies, workshops, and events that directly help the development of our designers.

Our overall goal is to raise funding to assist select designers to attend events the Made In Hawaii Festival on Oahu and partner with other Hawaiian Islands to do pop-up events.
